Goodbye to the Little Jeep

Friday afternoon, I was at work. Jared was on his way to Rexburg with our friends John. He was traveling on North Yellowstone Highway in Idaho Falls. The car in front of him slowed down to turn right into her daughter's driveway. Jared slowed down as well. The car behind him did not. She crashed into the back of the Jeep, pushing him off the side of the road, and causing the Jeep to flip, nose to roof into the side of another parked car. If it had not been for that parked car, the Jeep would have continued to flip. Jared and John were suspended upside down in the Jeep. The roof had caved so there was no point in trying to open the doors. They were amazingly able to roll the driver's side window down and crawl out.

Here is the miracle: Everyone was able to walk away from the scene. Jared called me at work and I raced to him and to see if there was anything I could do. Nothing. I know, you just feel better when you are there and you can hold your guy and know that he is in one piece.

With Jared being so tall, he should have suffered much more damage than he did (small ache in his shoulder, no stiffness whatsoever!) Everyone was protected in this crash. I am so grateful for the Lord and protecting both Jared and John. I know that this easily could have been a very different post.

Looking back, it was amazing that we did not roll along with flipping. It was amazing that even though it could have been really bad I and Jared are alive did not have any injuries. It is enough to humble the proud, and stand in awe.

Wow, I'm so glad Jared gave me a heads up yesterday or I would've panicked seeing the pictures. You guys were certainly blessed and I am so thankful everyone walked away unhurt. Love ya tons and can't wait to spend some time with you guys this weekend in Cokeville!
