Frustration

I went to the doctor today for a procedural appointment. Being new to this whole treatment thing that Jared and I have been doing, I really don't have a clue as to what all happens and when they need to see me because...they never told me. (Major run-on sentence.) Different clinics have different procedural timelines. I don't know, my guess is that a doctor would have explained it to me. Well, I was wrong, and I'm getting tired.

I am now going to be a responsible patient and annoy my doctor with questions. Not that I don't ask questions. I always ask questions. I am apparently not getting in as often as they need me to. I was unaware of this. Nothing was said to me. I guess I need to start following up appointments with, "What's the next step? When do you need to see me again? Do I need to get blood taken?" All this, rather than, "Take this..." I just assumed that they would let me know what the next step was. Shame on me!

To those of you who have gone or are going through this, my heart goes out to you. This is a new kind of confusing.

I am so sorry!

I'll have to tell you more later, but when I went to that clinic, I ran into the same thing. When I switched clinics, my new doctor offered me a lot more info, options, and timelines and stuff.

I tell ya, it's a challenge that's a whole new kind of hell, but it really makes you realize what you are made of, that's for sure.

Let's hope this experience show that I am made of more. But I have to tell you Lara, it's because of people like you, Kristen and my sister-in-law that I am still going. Are there ever times where you just want to say, forget it, it will happen when it happens.

Oh boy! How annoying! That's how it was with my Dr when I was pregnant...I had no idea what I was doing and I didn't know what questions to ask...and he didn't tell me much either! So I finally started figuring out what questions I needed to ask...and he answered them happily...but, in my opinion, the Dr should be jamming all sorts of information down your throat! So, you go girl! Be that patient that asks a million questions! :)

Oh, Shelly! I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this. But unfortunately we have to really take charge of our own care more often than not... as we talked about the other day...

Good luck!
